Feminism and neoliberalism in Latin America
This article is
important in my career, since it is part of the literature that was
incorporated after the strike. It is rare that in my career they place women as
writers, and that is why I think it is important to highlight them. The article
takes a critical stance on certain currents of feminisms, which relate the
movement of women with the development of capitalism as things go hand in hand.
In a sense, it postulates that this type of capitalism leaves out women from
low social strata and above all women from Asia, Africa and indigenous women in
Latin America. Thus this type of feminism hides the plurality of women's
experiences, to account only for the needs of upper class women. I love the
article because it allows us to understand that within the feminist movement
there are different aspects, which are often opposed to each other, and also
makes it possible to visualize the reality of women who are often considered
marginal in society.
